Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Momentum AI stores the following data locally on your Mac:

• Screenshots: Captured images of your screen at configurable intervals
• Audio Recordings: Voice tasks and optional system audio recordings
• AI-Generated Summaries: Text summaries created from your screenshots and audio
• Application Metadata: Window titles, application names, and timestamps
• Configuration Settings: Your app preferences and settings

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identifying information
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Crash reports (unless manually shared by you)
• Device information beyond what's necessary for app functionality
• Location data
• Contact information

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• AI Processing: Screenshots and audio are sent to Google's Gemini API for analysis and summarization
• Local Storage: Data is organized and stored on your device for your access
• App Functionality: Configuration settings enable app features and customization
• Calendar Integration: Summary data is used to create calendar events (if enabled)
• Reminders Integration: Voice tasks are converted to reminders in your macOS Reminders app

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Google Gemini API

The only external service that receives your data is Google's Gemini API, which is used for:

• Analyzing screenshots to generate text summaries
• Transcribing audio recordings to text
• Extracting tasks from voice recordings

Important: You control your own Google Gemini API key, which is stored securely in your macOS Keychain. We do not have access to your API key or the data processed through it.

No Other Data Sharing

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Share data with advertisers
• Use your data for marketing purposes
• Provide data to analytics services
• Share data with other users or organizations

4. Data Security

Local Storage Security

• Sandboxed Application: Momentum AI runs in macOS's secure sandbox environment
• Keychain Storage: API keys are stored in macOS Keychain with encryption
• File System Permissions: App only accesses designated folders with your permission
• No Network Storage: No data is stored on external servers or cloud services

API Communication Security

• All communication with Google Gemini API uses HTTPS encryption
• API requests are made directly from your device
• No data is cached or stored on intermediate servers

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Automatic Data Cleanup

• Configurable Retention: Set data retention period from 1-90 days
• Automatic Deletion: Old data is automatically deleted based on your settings
• Manual Cleanup: Use "Clean Old Data Now" feature anytime

Complete Data Removal

To completely remove all Momentum AI data:

• Delete the app from your Applications folder
• Remove data folders: ~/Documents/momentum-ai/
• Remove API key from Keychain (optional)

6. Your Rights and Controls

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your data is stored locally and accessible to you
• Modification: Change settings and retention periods anytime
• Deletion: Delete specific files or all data at any time
• Portability: Your data is in standard formats (PNG, M4A, text)
• Opt-out: Disable any feature or stop using the app anytime

7. Children's Privacy

Momentum AI is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

• We will post the updated policy on this page
• We will update the "Last Updated" date
• For significant changes, we may notify users through the app
